STEM Students At Danbury's Westside Middle School Launch Weather Balloons DANBURY, Conn. -- Students of Westside Middle School Academy launched two weather balloons Wednesday, May 18.  “Today was a huge success,” said teacher Jon Neuhausel. “The kids really took this project to the next level.” The balloons were in flight for around two-and-a-half hours and made it to the border of Rhode Island.  A hundred students from the school's STEM academy worked on the project, 20 of whom worked on the launch itself from the field behind Danbury High School. Ossining Library Discussion Focuses On Sing Sing Museum OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining Public Library will host a community workshop discussion about the proposed Sing Sing Prison Museum on Tuesday, May 31.  Staff from Lord Cultural Resources, the consulting team hired to draft detailed development plans for the museum, will lead the workshop.  The team will present the ideas currently being formulated and offer a chance for residents to engage in the process of planning the museum. The Nightclub @ Lewisboro Library Features Singer Vaneese Thomas LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- The Lewisboro Library will be transformed into The Nightclub for a concert by Vaneese Thomas on Friday, June 3.  A jazz, R&B and soul blues singer, Thomas has performed with the likes of Luciano Pavarotti, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Elton John and more.  Table seating is $60 per person, and general seating is $30. Wine, beer and dessert are included. New Rochelle High Art Students Produce Works En Plein Air NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle High School art students recently produced works on campus en plein air.  The students studied the ink drawings of Vincent Van Gogh and practiced his method of using self-made reed pens dipped in ink to draw landscapes while outdoors.  Arborist and New Rochelle resident Frank Buddingh assisted students in preparing for their projects by cutting invasive Japanese knotweed and carving reed pens from the pieces.  New Rochelle High's art students have participated in the spring tradition for more than a decade.
