Young Darien Runners Training For Charity 5K In Stamford DARIEN, Conn. -- Students of Darien’s Let Me Run and Girls on the Run after-school programs are training for Sunday's Hope in Motion 5K, a charity event benefiting Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center. The 5K and 10K runs will take place Sunday, June 1, at 8 a.m. in downtown Stamford’s Columbus Park. Nearly 100 young runners from Hindley, Holmes, Royle, Pear Tree Point and Tokeneke Schools will compete in the 5K or 3.1-mile race. Each one is running with at least one parent or guardian. Wandering Artist Finds A Home In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- “I daydream and wander to escape the mundane,'' Stamford artist Holly Danger said. Norwalk Lacrosse Player Makes National All-Star Team NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk's Kelly Gouin, an eighth-grade student at King in Stamford, has been named a 2014 Brine National All-Star and has been selected to represent the Connecticut region at the 2014 Brine National Lacrosse Academy and Brine National Lacrosse Classic. Pound Ridge Rowers Head To Nationals With Norwalk Team POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Pound Ridge rowers Kris Petreski and Liam McDonough are among 10 athletes Norwalk River Rowing is sending to the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sacramento, Calif. New Features Added For Hope In Motion Races In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- Some new features, including a 10-kilometer race, have been added to the Hope In Motion race in Stamford. A 5K and 10K to support Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center will begin Sunday, June 1, at 8 a.m. at Columbus Park. Italian Center Rallies For Stamford Little League Win STAMFORD, Conn. -- Jack Seegers’ solo blast tied the game and Christian Frattaroli scored the winner on a passed ball as the Italian Center beat Sound View Engineers, 5-4, in a Stamford Little League game.
