Fairfield Giants Cheerleaders Finish 2nd At Pop Warner Nationals FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Giants Junior Midget cheerleaders finished second Wednesday at the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance championships in Orlando. Competing in the Medium Division against five other teams, Fairfield posted a score of 90.18. The Winchester Sachems of Massachusetts won the competition with a score of 90.54. After running and volunteering at many area races, the couple now feels ready to direct their own event. The Whipples will launch the the SoNo Half Marathon and 5K on Saturday, Oct. 17. The 13.1-mile race will start and end at Veterans Park, with twists and turns near Rowayton, downtown Norwalk and East Norwalk. The 5K loop will mostly be run in South Norwalk.
