Fairfield Giants Cheerleaders Finish 2nd At Pop Warner Nationals FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Giants Junior Midget cheerleaders finished second Wednesday at the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance championships in Orlando. Competing in the Medium Division against five other teams, Fairfield posted a score of 90.18. The Winchester Sachems of Massachusetts won the competition with a score of 90.54. Norwalk Couple Proposes New Half-Marathon In 2015 NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk’s Shannon and James Whipple joined Fairfield County’s vibrant running community six years ago. After running and volunteering at many area races, the couple now feels ready to direct their own event. The Whipples will launch the the SoNo Half Marathon and 5K on Saturday, Oct. 17. The 13.1-mile race will start and end at Veterans Park, with twists and turns near Rowayton, downtown Norwalk and East Norwalk. The 5K loop will mostly be run in South Norwalk. Westport Runner Races Saturday In National Cross Country Championships WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport’s Hannah Debalsi finished second at last year’s Foot Locker cross country national championships. This year, the junior from Staples High School hopes to climb up one more step on the podium.
