But a pack of runners and a lingering injury that affected Ostberg’s training, cost the Darien senior in the final stages of the race in San Diego. Staples Runner Finishes 5th At National Cross County Race WESTPORT, Conn. -- Staples High School junior Hannah Debalsi finished fifth Saturday at the Foot Locker national cross country championships in San Diego. Debalsi covered the 5-kilometer course in 17:47 and was the top runner from the Northeast region. It was the second straight time she has finished in the Top Five in the race. Debalsi finished second last year. Anna Rohrer of Indiana won the race in 17:13. On Saturday, with the Class L Large championship at stake, the Rams finally found a way to solve the Blue Wave defense. Friday Afternoon Traffic Jammed Across Fairfield County FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Traffic jams clogged rush-hour traffic Friday afternoon on Interstate 95 and the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield County. An accident on I-95 North between Exits 17 and 18 in Westport played a significant part in the delays. The two-car accident occurred at 4:34 p.m. according to a state of Connecticut incident report. Travel was slow northbound and southbound on the interstate. The Merritt Parkway was also crawling in both directions late Friday afternoon. Traffic also was moving slowly along Interstate 84 in Danbury in each direction.
