Stamford's Casimir Named Rookie Of The Week Again At Iona STAMFORD, Conn. -- Iona College freshman Schadrac Casimir, from Stamford, was named the Rookie of the Week by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Casimir, a graduate of Trinity Catholic, scored 29 points for the New Rochelle, N.Y. college, in a 92-89 road loss at Monmouth University. He also had three assists and one turnover. He added 19 points and three assists in a 77-64 over Rider University, and finished the week with 16 points in a 91-84 win over Indiana State. Casimir  is averaging 16.6 points per game for Iona (6-3). He also won the rookie honor from the MAAC last week.
