William Bache, 91, Navy Pilot Lived In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- William A. Bache, 91, of Bridgeport died Monday, Feb. 23, in Bridgeport. Bache was born in Providence, R.I.,  on Nov. 28, 1923, the son of John S. and Christine (Kennedy) Bache. He was a retired Navy aviator commander and a fighter pilot. After the war, he became a naval helicopter pilot and instructor and later was in the Naval Reserve until the mandatory retirement age of 60.
