Paul Duncan, 46, was killed Friday in an accident on the Sprain Brook Parkway. His car was hit by a wrong-way driver about 4 a.m. south of Route 100B. Sex Offenders Live Near Pre-K Programs, Report Says WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Sex offenders live near prekindergarten schools in Mount Vernon, Yonkers, New Rochelle and White Plains, according to a report by the New York State Senate Coalition. A story from Gannett's Albany bureau said six sex offenders were found to be living near prekindergartens in Mount Vernon, three in Yonkers, two in New Rochelle and one in White Plains. Retired Putnam Investigator Pleads Not Guilty To Beating Suspect CARMEL, N.Y. --  A former Putnam County sheriff investigator pleaded not guilty to allegedly beating  a suspect in the Carmel Court House last year, according to a News 12 story. In a video of the incident, Patrick Castaldo and another investigator Gerald Schramek are shown escorting suspected burglar Kenneth Defreitas out of the town court. The suspect then reaches for Schramek’s gun and is subsequently taken down by the two investigators. Wastrom is a member of the Class of 2017 and is majoring in environmental studies English. Wastrom attended Joel Barlow High School.
