Foiled Oil Heist: Trio Steals Cooking Grease From Capital Region Restaurant, Police Say Three men are facing charges after they were allegedly caught stealing used cooking oil from a restaurant in the region. A Rensselaer County business owner in Castleton on Hudson called police at around 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, saying three men were on their property without permission, according to New York State Police. The owner told investigators that the men were attempting to steal used cooking oil that is saved and sold to a biodiesel company for recycling. Deadly Cocktail: Long Island Dealer's Fentanyl Mix Kills Man, Causes 2 Other Overdoses, DA Says A Long Island man is accused of selling a deadly drug cocktail that led to a man’s fatal overdose and hospitalized two others. Omar Aitcheson, age 31, of North Amityville, was arraigned on multiple charges in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Nov. 6. According to prosecutors, Aitcheson sold a mix of fentanyl and tramadol to three Copiague men who thought they were buying cocaine on Sunday, Oct. 8. ID Released For Fisherman Who Drowned In Capital Region Pond Authorities are investigating after a fisherman was found dead in a pond in the region. Emergency crews in Washington County were called at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, about a man who had failed to return home from a fishing trip. Following a search, crews located the man’s body in Clarks Pond in the town of Jackson. ATV Duo Flees Cops After Reckless Joyride On Long Island Highway, Police Say Two men are facing charges following an alleged reckless joyride and police chase involving ATVs on a Long Island highway. The incident began at around 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, in East Farmingdale on Route 110, according to Suffolk County Police.
