Full Closure Planned For Portion Of Long Island Expressway A scheduled highway closure could spell delays for Long Island drivers. The westbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway will close overnight at Exit 49N in Huntington on Friday, Nov. 3. I-495 westbound will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews facilitate a bridge deck renewal project at the Round Swamp Road bridge, according to the Department of Transportation. Gas Explosion Collapses Home In Hudson Valley; Around A Dozen Injuries - Developing Emergency crews are on the scene of a gas explosion that destroyed a home in the region and left around a dozen of people injured. The Dutchess County incident happened at around 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, in the village of Wappingers Falls, at a single-family home on Brick Row near Mill Street. ID Released After Human Remains Found At Sunken Meadow State Park In Smithtown Authorities have identified a man whose remains were found at a state park on Long Island. The discovery was made just before 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Sunken Meadow State Park in Smithtown. On Wednesday, Nov. 1, New York State Police identified the man as 20-year-old Yoneli Abimael Ramos-Moreno, most recently of Brentwood. Derrick Clancy, age 42, was formally charged in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Nov. 1, in connection with the alleged burglaries and assaults at two homes in Mastic Beach.
