Lawrence A. Petruso, 74, Retired Greenwich Police Officer GREENWICH, Conn. -- Lawrence A. Petruso, retired Greenwich Police Officer and New Fairfield resident, died Saturday, April 9. He was 74.  Petruso was born in the Bronx, N.Y. to the late Dominic and Angela Petruso. After serving in the Army and rising to the rank of sergeant, he worked as an officer for the Greenwich Police Department from September of 1970 until his retirement in February, 1998.  He received numerous departmental and SSA commendations such as the Ribbon of Commendation, as well as several letters of appreciation.  Petruso is survived by his wife Barbara Petruso, daughter D…

Police Dish Out 42 Tickets In 684 Detail New York State Police issued 42 tickets during a Traffic Enforcement Detail on I-684 on Friday, April 8 in Bedford. The 42 tickets included 22 speed arrests, one move over law arrest, two cell phone violation arrests, five seat-belt arrests and 12 other violations. The detail took place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Pearl River Public Library Hosts Free Naloxone Training PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- Pearl River Public Library will host a free Naloxone training session on Thursday, April 14.  Naloxone can be administered via a nasal spray to temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid or heron-induced overdose until first responders arrive.  Participants will leave training with their own Naloxone kit with two doses. Lance Brady and Henry Gutch won Group Website - Jr. Division for "9/11 and Terrorism in the Middle East."  Philip Dulock won Individual Exhibit - Jr. Division for "Darwin's Theory." They will represent Pelham Public Schools in Cooperstown at the New York State History Day competition on April 18.
