Yoga Teachers Association Hosts Revered Yogini Tao Porchon-Lynch
BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- Yoga Teachers Association of the Hudson Valley will host yogini Tao Porchon-Lunch at Club Fit on Saturday, June 11. Porchon-Lunch, 97, was named "Oldest Yoga Teacher" by Guinness World Records. She began yoga at the age of 8, and her mantra is "There Is Nothing You Cannot Do." She will explore the energy of yoga, integrating breath and movement and using the four pillars of yoga: pranayama, mudras, bandhas and chakras. Rockland Department Of Health Offers Free Mosquito Dunks
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Rockland Department of Health is offering free products to keep away mosquitoes, according to a report by lohud.com. Mosquito dunks can be placed inside pools to kill larval mosquitoes in water before they can become adults, reported lohud.com. Mosquito dunks are available at the Health Department at 50 Sanatorium Road in Ramapo from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays, said lohud.com. Naloxone Training Offered By Anti-Drug Group In East Dutchess
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dover High School and Amenia Town Hall will host naloxone training events this week. The events will cover identifying the signs of addiction, where to get help, how to dispose of unused prescription medication and how to administer naloxone. Mohegan Lake Resident Charged With Violating Order Of Protection
CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- A man from Mohegan Lake was charged in Yorktown with criminal contempt in the second degree and aggravated unlicensed operation, police said. Brandon A. Gonzalez, 32, was stopped on Thursday, April 14, by officers on Old Yorktown Road, following a report of a temporary of protection violation at a home in Yorktown, police said. Man Charged In Yorktown With Driving With Suspended License
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Mount Kisco resident was arrested In Yorktown and charged with driving with a suspended license, having fewer than two brake lights and possession of marijuana, police said. Joshua T. Holmes, 27, was stopped on Saturday, April 16, for operating a vehicle with allegedly fewer than two brake lamps after being observed by a patrolling officer on Route 6 by the intersection with Barger Street, police said. Rotary Raises Money For Mount Kisco Little League
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- The 2016 season of Mount Kisco Little League opened with a fundraiser on Saturday, April 16. Several members of the Mount Kisco Rotary Club came out to celebrate Little League Day and to raise funds for the baseball organization. The club sold hamburgers, hot dogs, beverages and snacks at the game, with proceeds benefiting the Mount Kisco Little League Organization.
