Adults Warned About Hosting Safe Summer Parties For Teens
PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Putnam law enforcement and the Putnam Communities That Care Coalition have issued a reminder about local laws governing hosts of parties. Adults cannot knowingly allow a party or gathering with three or more minors present where alcohol is consumed by one or more minor, even if the adult did not supply the alcohol. Parents are advised to inform teens about the symptoms of alcohol poisoning. and to seek medical care immediately in such an event. Four Candidates Vie For Three Hendrick Hudson School Board Seats
CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Four candidates are running for three available seats on the Hendrick Hudson Board of Education, according to The Examiner. Trustee Carol Popolow Abraham is running for a second term, while newcomers Lisa Anderson, William Morris and William Oricchio are also seeking a seat on the board, The Examiner reported. Peekskill Resident Charged With Violating Probation
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Yorktown police arrested a Peekskill man for violating probation. Tyrell A. Mosely, 33, was found to have an active arrest warrant for violation of probation during a computer check at Sears on Lee Blvd. Mosley was transported to police headquarters and transferred to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections. He is currently being held for United States Marshals.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie police are seeking assistance from the public in finding a suspect in a shooting, according to Time Warner Cable News. A 40-year-old man was found with several gunshot wounds in the area of 18 Suncrest Court on Sunday, May 8, Time Warner Cable News reported. CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Clarkstown Police Department recently collected more than four boxes of prescription drugs in four hours on National Prescription Take-Back Day on April 30. Residents can drop off their prescription drugs at the police station for disposal every day of the year. National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is an initiative to provide safe, responsible, convenient ways to dispose of prescription drugs, as well as educate on the potential for medication abuse.

East Ramapo Considers Two Magnet Schools
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- East Ramapo school officials are considering a plan to convert Kakiat and Lime Kiln elementary schools into magnet schools for the next academic year, according to lohud.com.
