Gran Fondo Bicycle Race Expected To Cause Clarkstown Traffic Delays CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Clarkstown Police Department has issued a major traffic alert for Sunday, May 15, due to the Campagnolo Gran Fondo race.  More than 6,000 riders are expected to participate in the annual bicycle race.  The northbound leg along Route 9W through Upper Nyack, Valley Cottage and Congers is expected to have minimal impact on traffic.  The southbound leg through New City and West Nyack is expected to cause major traffic delays beginning at around 9:30 a.m.  Police and event volunteers will provide traffic control at all major intersections on the routes.
