Lakeland Receives Approval For Smart School Proposal SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- New York State recently approved the Lakeland Central School District's Smart School proposal.  “Since technology is always changing, the district's technology plan will be reviewed annually and adjusted as needed to address these changes,” said Dwayne Hoffmann, director of information technology.  Lakeland is one of 52 districts in the state to receive approval so far.
