Norwalk Reminds Residents Of Road Closures For Memorial Day Parade
NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk will experience temporary road closures Monday for the Memorial Day Parade. The parade begins at Veterans Park in East Norwalk and will proceed east on Van Zant Street then north on East Avenue, concluding at the Norwalk Green. The road will be closed on the parade route from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Van Zant Street, East Avenue (south of Route 1) and the north and southbound ramps of Interstate 95 Exit 16 will be closed to all traffic from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All other I-95 exits in Norwalk will remain open to traffic during the parade.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Public Library will be closed Sunday and Monday in observance of Memorial Day. The library will exhibit a memorial tribute to New Rochelle residents who died while in active duty through Friday, June 3. Fairfield Reminds Residents Of Memorial Day Parade Details
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield will observe Memorial Day with a parade Monday. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of Post and South Pine Creek roads. The parade will proceed east from South Pine Creek Road along the Post Road to the library then south on Old Post Road to Flint's Corner then east along Old Post Road. Hudson Park Beach Opens For Season Memorial Day Weekend
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Hudson Park Beach will open for the season Saturday in time for Memorial Day weekend. The beach will be open on weekends only until Monday, June 27, when it will open every day until Monday, Sept. 5. Sleepy Hollow High School Hosts Yappy Hour
SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow High School's Promoting Animal Welfare Club had a "Yappy Hour" at Tarrytown's Coffee Labs last week. Club members painted the faces of kids, had a pet-themed raffle and sold homemade dog treats at the fundraising event. In addition to kids, dogs and cats were in attendance. Coffee Labs donated 10 percent of the day's proceeds to the PAW club. The money raised by "Yappy Hour" will be donated to a to-be-determined animal shelter.

Senior K9 Officer Retires From Clarkstown PD After Long Tenure
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Senior K9 officer King has retired from the Clarkstown Police Department after eight years of service. He was trained as a "dual purpose" K9 to detect narcotics, article searches and tracking. King also received SWAT training and was deployed with the Department's Critical Incident Response Team, which serves to clear buildings and search for dangerous suspects. King assisted in numerous arrests and in finding narcotics, firearms, evidence and missing persons during his service to Clarkstown. East Fishkill Library Displays Paintings By Alexis Lynch
EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- The East Fishkill Community Library will exhibit the paintings of Alexis Lynch throughout June. The Fishkill-based artist began painting in the 1990s in watercolor, and also works in pastel and egg tempera. She has recently taken acrylic classis. Lynch has studied with nationally known artists Arleta Pech and Tom Lynch, as well as local artists Patricia Billeci, Marlene Weidenbaum, Gayle Clark Fedigan and Gene Gabay. Pelham Announces New Parking, Dropoff Procedures At High School
PELHAM, N.Y. -- The Village of Pelham has worked with Pelham Public Schools on ways to improve pedestrian safety in front of Pelham Memorial High School. Families are encouraged to drop off children at the newly painted "Drop Off Zone" along the north side of Colonial Avenue. Students should not be dropped off along the south side of Colonial Avenue or on Corlies Avenue near the faculty parking lot. The Drop Off Zone will be active Tuesday, May 31. The school area also features additional signs, wider crosswalks and a recently painted grid at the intersection.
