Community Rallies For Paterson Teacher Fighting Kidney Cancer
PATERSON, N.J. -- First-year Paterson science teacher and newlywed Carlos Moran was recently diagnosed with stage-four kidney cancer -- and the community is pitching in to make his battle against it somewhat easier.
Carlos taught judo for over a decade, then transitioned to teaching in middle school this year, his wife of only six months, Charissa Moran, said in the GoFundMe page set up to help deal with medical and other costs.

Woodcliff Lake Hebrew Students Buy And Wrap For Kids In Need
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. -- Valley Chabad, in Woodcliff Lake, held its annual Chanukah gift wrap at Hebrew School earlier this month, enlisting students' help in giving to others. The Jewish Family Service of Bergen County paired students with children in need, each of whom had requested a certain gift they wanted for their holiday present. The Hebrew School students then purchased those gifts and wrapped them on Dec. 11, assisted by parents and volunteers.
