Emerson, Westwood Work Together To Ease Flooding
WESTWOOD, N.J. -- Westwood and Emerson have, as neighbors, experienced issues with flooding, and they are trying to work on the issues cooperatively, The Record reported.
Emerson has already applied for a grant from the state Department of Transportation's Local Aid Infrastructure Fund, and the Westwood Council voted Tuesday to apply for a grant from that fund as well, according to The Record.

Wayne Valley High School Organizes Car Show
WAYNE, N.J. -- An all-models car show is coming to Wayne Valley High School on Wednesday, June 8.
Whether your vehicle is American-made or an import, a muscle car or otherwise, all varieties are welcome. Last year, over 400 vehicles were display and more than 1,000 people attended, organizers noted.
The event will feature giveaways, music, food for purchase, demonstrations by automotive technology students at the school and other activities. A film crew from NJEA Classroom CloseUP TV will also be on hand to film the event.

Wilma (Ranieri) Smithward, 74, Fort Lee Resident
FORT LEE, N.J. -- Wilma (Ranieri) Smithward, of Fort Lee, died on Saturday, June 4. She was 74.
Born in Naples, Italy, Smithward worked at Quest Diagnostics in Teterboro for 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Dragoslavic and her husband Steve; grandchildren Matthew and Andrew; brothers Matteo and his wife Lina Ranieri, and Maurizio and his wife Rosemarie Ranieri; and many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Smithward was predeceased by her brother, Eraclio Ranieri.

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Giovanna (Di Marco) Buttacavoli -- a Franklin Lakes resident, formerly of Garfield -- died on Sunday, June 5. She was 93.
Born in Sicily, Italy, Buttacavoli came to the United States and settled with her family in Garfield. She was a seamstress with the John Boiko Dress Company, in Garfield, for many years before she retired in 1982.
She was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes and a former parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrow Church in Garfield.
