Ready, Set, Glide: Mahwah Hosts Paddle Day On Lake Henry
MAHWAH, N.J. -- The Mahwah Recreation Committee is hosting Paddle Day on Thursday, July 7, on Lake Henry.
The event is for Mahwah residents of all ages -- so bring some ID. Ramsey Outdoor Stores will provide canoes, kayaks and life jackets for the paddlers.
The event will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m., on Lake Henry, located in the rear of Continental Soldier's Park. The rain date is Thursday, July 14.

One Of Westport’s Oldest Restaurants Closing This Week
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport's Acqua Ristorante will close its doors after the diners are done this Thursday, the Westport News has reported.
And while Acqua has a couple meals to serve, yet, it's already absent from Z Hospitality Group's website, where it lived until only recently.
Ramze Zakka, owner of the company, said that increasing competition -- as well as changed in zoning that made it easier for competitors to get liquor licenses -- contributed to the decision to close, according to the Westport News.

Former Danbury Mayor Given Diversion Program In Domestic Assault Case
DANBURY, Conn. -- In a Tuesday court appearance, Gene Eriquez -- former mayor of Danbury for over a decade -- was granted diversionary options, including family violence education and substance abuse treatment, the News-Times has reported.
Eriquez is charged with a variety of crimes, including third-degree assault, after an incident where police assert he came home drunk, punched and pushed his wife, and tried to prevent her from calling for help, according to the News-Times. His wife currently has a restraining order against him.
