Calogero Pisciotta, 90, Longtime Elmwood Park Resident
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Calogero Pisciotta, of Elmwood Park, died on Tuesday, June 28. He was 90.
Born in Italy, Pisciotta immigrated to the United States in 1973. He lived in Hawthorne before settling in Elmwood Park for the past 35 years. He was a machinist in the garment industry for 21 years, and retired in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Paola Bonura; children Maria Mania and her husband Russell, and Carlo Pisciotta and his wife Lina; grandchildren Daniella, Paola and Alessandra Mania, and Charles and Giancarlo Pisciotta.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- Sophie (Marek) Szczesniak, of Hasbrouck Heights, died on Thursday, June 30. She was 84.
Szczesniak was born in Poland. Before she retired, she was a director of operations at Playtex International in Paramus, and later in New York City. She was a faithful parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, in Hasbrouck Heights.

Edmund P. Moir, 70, Longtime Oradell Resident
ORADELL, N.J. --Edmund P. Moir, a longtime resident of Oradell, died on Wednesday, June 29. He was 70. Moir retired as a general sales manager of 92.3 K-Rock radio. "Two of his most favorite things were spending time with his adored grandchildren and going to Rome, Italy," information from the funeral home noted.
He is survived by his former wife, Louise Moir; children Jill Pacelli and her husband Frank, and Jennifer Tashjian and her husband Roger; brother Michael Moir and his wife Marie; and grandchildren Jessica, Emily, Matthew, Michael, Olivia and Sofia.

Lodi Keeps Rocking With Summer Concerts
LODI, N.J. – The Borough of Lodi is continuing its popular summer concert series in the park this year, on Wednesdays this summer, with Beginnings, a Chicago tribute band, kicking it off on July 6.
On July 13, Lodi's favorite son, Joey Dee, will perform, featuring his '60s hit, "Peppermint Twist," as Joey Dee & the Starliters. July 20 will bring the Infernos, performing "three decades of musical magic," organizers note. Register Now For Glen Rock Arboretum's Kids Nature Journaling Workshops
GLEN ROCK, N.J.– The Thielke Arboretum is bringing back its nature journaling program for elementary-school kids, for the fourth year. Session 1 is for kids entering K-2. It will meet Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 29-30, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The cost is $40 and includes materials. Session 2 is for rising third- through fifth-graders. It will be immediately following, on Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. It costs $60, including materials.
