Happy Birthday To Olympic Skater Johnny Weir, Of Lyndhurst
LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Happy birthday to professional skater Johnny Weir, of Lyndhurst. He'll turn 32 this Saturday, July 2.Weir was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Delaware to train, when he was 12. He moved to Lyndhurst in 2007, to be close to a new training facility, in Wayne.
He won gold at three U.S. Championships, bronze at a World Championship, and has competed in two Olympics, placing fifth and sixth. He retired from competitive skating in 2013.

Robert Paul Pepe, 70, Saddle Brook Resident
SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Robert Paul Pepe, of Saddle Brook, died on Thursday, June 30. He was 70.After graduating St. Anthony Catholic School and Don Bosco Tech, Pepe served with the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967. Afterward, he completed classes at Teterboro School of Aeronautics and was a mechanic for American Airlines for 42 years.
"His greatest enjoyment came from vacationing in Hawaii and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren," information from the funeral home noted.

Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival Comes To Rhinebeck Next Saturday
RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- The Starr Library is hosting its Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival on Saturday, July 9, with a wide variety of activities for kids. The day will feature painting, games, tattoos, ice cream and a raffle. Register online here, or by calling 845-876-4030.
