Suffern Library July Films Begin With 'Cartel Land' SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The Suffern Free Library has three films on its documentary/foreign film slate in July, beginning with "Cartel Land" on Tuesday, July 12. That gritty 2015 documentary takes a close look at the cartels fueling the drug problem in the U.S. and Mexico -- and how vigilante groups on each side are combating them. Harper Is SPCA Pet Of The Week BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The SPCA of Westchester would like to introduce Harper, a 1-year-old female pit bull who is eligible for foster-to-adopt. "This one year old pitbull gal is absolutely stunning with her one blue eye, one brown eye, floppy ears and constant smile," the shelter notes. East Fishkill PD Conducts Active Shooter Training EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- School's out, but the hallways of schools in the Wappingers Central School District were put to another use last week: active shooter drills. The East Fishkill Police Department conducted its yearly active shooter/active violence response training. The Putnam County Sheriff Department, Kent Police Department, Drug Enforcement Agency and Dutchess County Probation Office also participated. Russell Dizon, 68, Teaneck Resident TEANECK, N.J. -- Russell Dizon, of Teaneck, died on Friday, July 1. He was 68. Born in the Philippines, Dizon came to the United States in 1972, living in Queens before settling in New Jersey. He worked as VP of Sandcastle and worked at the New Horizon Deli in Fort Lee for 14 years. He is survived by his wife, Amelia Bautista; children Therese Rosary Dizon and Joey Mac Dizon; siblings Roderick Dizon, Edenmay De Los Reyes, Evelyn Hsu, Jeline Reyes, Christopher Dizon, Celestial Bravo, Galahad Dizon and Galilea Wolf; several in-laws; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Saddle Brook Soccer Players Hone Techniques At Camp SADDLE BROOK, N.J. -- Veterans Field again hosted the Saddle Brook junior soccer camp, for kids from 6-13."Thank you and great job by Soccer Commissioner Vin Penzato and Board Members Mike Kenny, Anthony Condegni, Mario Espinoza and Pino DeBari," Mayor Bob White said in a Saturday Facebook post.
