Stratford EMS' New UTV Already Getting Around STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford EMS' new Polaris utility task vehicle -- or UTV -- was officially deployed in June this year, but it's already seen action. The UTV can move patients from hard-to-reach areas to ambulances, and it can accommodate a stretcher or a patient rescue basket. It also has a winch and has limited towing capabilities. SEMS is now able to quickly get a crew and its gear close to the patient and then quickly move the patient to the ambulance with increased safety, limited delays due to the crowds and limited disruption to crowds at events.
