Laura Hoydick is returning as executive director of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce, one of the Affiliate Chambers of Commerce of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. Darien To Go Even More Green With 30 New Plantings By Tree Conservancy DARIEN, CONN. -- Tree Conservancy of Darien coordinated the delivery of 30 trees donated by Planters Choice Nursery for planting in town. The conservancy will plant trees at the Town Hall baseball field, Pear Tree Beach and other locations in which trees fell due to storms, disease, and construction. Funds for the trees became available through donations to the nonprofit agency. Fairfield County Officials Aim To Find Funds For Tributes At Vets' Funerals FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Archie Elam and Tony Hwang know the importance of properly paying respects to veterans at funerals. Now, the Commander of the Fairfield County branch of the Veterans for Foreign Wars and the state legislator from Fairfield have worked together with other state leaders to find the funds to do so. Cancer Society Seeks Drivers To Transport Patients To Lifesaving Treatments BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The American Cancer Society’s Road To Recovery program is in need of volunteers to donate their time and passenger seat to help get cancer patients to their appointments. Darien Receives $20K From State For Swap Shop At Recycling Center DARIEN, Conn. -- Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has awarded a $20,000 grant to Darien to enhance the town's waste reduction efforts.
