Warren Blunt, 63, Bridgeport's Director of Environmental Health BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Warren Blunt, Bridgeport's long-time Director of Environmental Health, died on Friday, Dec. 30 at Bridgeport Hospital. The lifelong Bridgeport resident was 63. Blunt was the son of Harry and Helen Cooke Blunt. He received a Bachelor of Art in English from St. Michael College in Vermont and taught at Bassick and Warren Harding High Schools and the University School. Glenn Hightower, 76, Retired School Principal In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — Glenn Hightower of Westport, who served three decades as principal at Bedford Junior High and Middle Schools and later as principal of Westport Adult and Continuing Education, died Sunday, Jan. 1 at home. He was 76. Hightower served for three decades as principal at Bedford junior high and middle schools, from 1969 to 2000, and also worked as principal of Westport Adult and Continuing Education. New Balance Bethel Closing, But New Store Looks To Step In BETHEL, Conn. -- New Balance Bethel is one of the first business casualties of the new year, but a fitting replacement should soon follow suit.
