Pump It Up: Gas Prices Soar Across Fairfield County FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Gas prices in Connecticut surged to their highest level since June 2016, according to a report from AAA Northeast. Connecticut’s average gas prices reached $2.49 on Monday, the highest average since late June 2016. Prices in the Nutmeg State are two cents higher compared to this time last week and 37 cents higher than this time last year, says AAA Northeast.
