Stamford, Greenwich Students At Iona Prep Choose Elite Colleges FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Students from Stamford and Greenwich were among 12 students from Iona Prep in New Rochelle who have accepted Early Decision offers from elite colleges. Terence Burke of Greenwich will attend Cornell University, while Langston Morrison of Stamford will attend Wesleyan College. The young men utilized the early application process in order to get results one way or the other by the close of 2016. Danbury Teen Gets 14 Years In Prison For Stabbing Death DANBURY, Conn. -- A 20-year-old Danbury man who was found guilty of a 2014 manslaughter charge was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison, according to a story in The News-Times. Emanuel Harris, 20, was found guilty in October in the 2014 stabbing death of Luan Pitol, 17, on Dec. 7, 2013 after a party at the Harambee Center. Harris was also found guilty of first-degree assault for slashing another teenager in the brawl. Stamford-Based Synchronized Skating Team Wins 2 Medals STAMFORD, Conn. -- Two synchronized skating teams from Stamford's Southern CT Synchronized Skating won medals at the Colonial Classic last weekend in Lowell, Mass. Sprites won gold and Shadows won silver in the competition. The Shimmers also participated for the Stamford club. The team is comprised of 41 skaters from Stamford, Greenwich, Westport, Darien, Norwalk, New Canaan, Southport and White Plains. Wilton Historical Society Reaches Out In Friendship To Honor MLK Day WILTON, Conn. -- The Great Trains Holiday Exhibit at the Wilton Historical Historical Society will come to the end of the line on Monday, Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
