Ridgefield Runner Named Patriot League Rookie Of The Week RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield’s Will Bordash was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after a strong performance for the Bucknell University men’s cross country team. Bordash, a freshman, finished ninth overall for Bucknell in the Titan Invitational. Bordash helped Bucknell to the team title by running the four-mile course in 20:51. The race was held in Northville, Mich., and included 11 other colleges.

Volleyball Player Of The Week SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale High School senior Michelle Li was named the MaxPreps Player of the Week for New York on Tuesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Li has 115 assists already on the young season for Scarsdale, not including statistics from Tuesday’s 2-0 loss to Suffern. She had 32 assists in Scarsdale’s season-opening game, a 3-1 loss to Clarkstown South. She had 19 assists in a 3-0 win Monday over White Plains.She also has 43 digs and six kills for Scarsdale (3-4-1).

Southport Triathlete 4th In World Half Ironman Championships EASTON, Conn. -- Easton’s Chris Thomas finished fourth in the 40-44 age group Sunday in the Ironman 70.3-mile World Championships in Mont Tremblant, Canada. Thomas, the two-time defending champion in his age group, finished 64th overall. The race consists of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and 13.1-mile run. The race is half the distance of the full Ironman race.
