Fairfield Prep Students Commended As Merit Scholars FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Nine Fairfield Prep students were commended in the National Merit Scholarship Program, with senior Dylan Hawkes honored as a National Merit semifinalist.  The seniors are recognized based on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test taken in their junior year. Over 1.5 million students from across the nation entered the competition by taking the test, and the Prep winners were selected based on placement in the Top 5 percent in highly competitive Connecticut.
