Yorktown Festival Returns On Sunday YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The sixth annual Yorktown Festival and Street Fair will be held Sunday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The fair will take place at Commerce Street and Veterans Road. It is sponsored by the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce in association with the town of Yorktown. The fair will include music, food and demonstrations. At 2 p.m., the festival will feature a costume contest parade for dogs. Proceeds from the fair are donated to civic and nonprofit groups in Yorktown. More information is on the event website.

John Mayo, 80, Longtime Port Chester Resident PORT CHESTER, N.Y. -- John Mayo, a long-time resident of Port Chester, died on Sept. 28 in Delray Beach, Fla. He was 80. Mayo was born on Aug. 12, 1934, in Port Chester to the Philip and Ester Meo.   Mayo attended Port Chester High School.
