Rye's Greer Earns Academic Soccer Honor At Tufts RYE, N.Y. -- Rye's Catharine Greer was named to the 2014?15 Capital One Academic All?District Women’s Soccer Teams at Tufts University, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The award recognizes the nation’s top student?athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Haldane Volleyball Star Earns All-American Honors COLD SPRING, N.Y. -- Haldane High School volleyball star Kelly Vahos was named to the American Volleyball Coaches' Association All-America team on Thursday. Vahos, a senior middle hitter, was an honorable mention selection. She has committed to play college volleyball at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. Section 1 Football Titles Will Be Decided This Weekend WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rye High School meets Yorktown for the Section 1 Class A championship Saturday, Nov. 8 at Mahopac High School to conclude a busy day of football playoffs. Norwalk High Band Wins 3rd Straight Musical Arts Championship NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk High School marching band won its third straight Musical Arts Conference championship last Saturday at Kennedy Stadium in Bridgeport. Playing in cold and rainy weather, Norwalk won with a score of 97.3. Trumbull, Norwalk's longtime rival, finished with 96.4. The offer was made by Assumption College. Major, a senior from Yonkers, has rushed for 552 yards and five touchdowns this fall for the unbeaten Crusaders. Former Fairfield Warde Runner Earns All-Big East Cross Country Honors FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Former Fairfield Warde distance runner Harry Warnick helped the Villanova University men’s cross country team win its second straight Big East championship on Oct. 31. Warnick, a sophomore, finished 12th overall for the Wildcats in the Big East race, which was held in Carmel, Ind.
