Rye High School Performs 'Shrek: The Musical'
This story has been updated with new photos. RYE, N.Y. -- Rye High School's Parsons Street Players will perform "Shrek the Musical" in the school's Performing Arts Center on Feb. 26 and 27. Performances will take place Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 27 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. The musical is based on DreamWorks' blockbuster animated film franchise and William Steig's book. The cast includes Cameron Kamer as Shrek, Penny Deen as Fiona, Peter Keller as Donkey and Teddy Stubbs as Lord Farquaad.

Mamaroneck First In State Banning Sale Of 'Puppy Mill' Pets
MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck officials banned the sale of puppy mill dogs in village pet stores on Monday night. Pet Rescue volunteers said Mamaroneck is the first and only municipality in New York state to adopt such a law. The new law mandates that Mamaroneck pet stores sell cats and dogs from shelters and rescue groups, rather than commercially-bred animals. Mayor Norm Rosenblum initially proposed the law. Connecticut Heroin Epidemic Spreads Through Weston
WESTON, Conn. -- Even Weston is not immune to Connecticut's deadly heroin epidemic, according to The Weston Forum. Police Chief John Troxell revealed that Weston has had two opioids incidents in the past few months, and one person is still in the hospital, The Weston Forum reported.
