RYE, N.Y. -- Rye High School's Parsons Street Players will perform "Shrek the Musical" in the school's Performing Arts Center on Feb. 26 and 27.  Performances will take place Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 27 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. The musical is based on DreamWorks' blockbuster animated film franchise and William Steig's book.  The cast includes Cameron Kamer as Shrek, Penny Deen as Fiona, Peter Keller as Donkey and Teddy Stubbs as Lord Farquaad.

Mamaroneck First In State Banning Sale Of 'Puppy Mill' Pets MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck officials banned the sale of puppy mill dogs in village pet stores on Monday night. Pet Rescue volunteers said Mamaroneck is the first and only municipality in New York state to adopt such a law. The new law mandates that Mamaroneck pet stores sell cats and dogs from shelters and rescue groups, rather than commercially-bred animals. Mayor Norm Rosenblum initially proposed the law.
