Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Man Fatally Stabs Stepdaughter, 20, Before Slashing Himself In New Brunswick: Prosecutor A man from Central Jersey has been charged with fatally stabbing his stepdaughter before slashing himself, authorities said. Lissi Rodriguez-Sanchez, 20, of New Brunswick. was killed in the stabbing, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at 9:12 a.m.., authorities responded to 37 Juliet Street after receiving the report that there were two injured people. South Jersey Man Caught Sharing Child Pornography: Prosecutor A 21-year-old man from Cape May County has been charged with possessing and sharing child pornography, authorities said. Jacob B. Shuman, of the Erma section of Lower Township, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 30, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland. 3 Stabbed During Fight In South Jersey, Suspect Arrested: Prosecutor A 20-year-old man from Camden County has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of three Ocean County men in Gloucester County, authorities said. New Jersey State Police found Michael Hill, of Cherry Hill, walking along the shoulder of Route 55 in Glassboro after a fight on Friday night, Oct. 27, according to Chief Thomas Gilbert of the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Woman Killed In Central Jersey: Prosecutor A woman was killed and a man was wounded in an attack in Central Jersey, authorities said. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 9:12 a.m., police responded to Juliet Street in New Brunswick after receiving the report that there were two injured people, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. Man Caused False Public Alarm Trying To Get Into South Jersey High School: Police A man was arrested after trying to enter multiple doors of the Burlington County Institute of Technology in Medford, authorities said. There was heightened concern after a K-9 detected possible explosives in the van he drove to campus, Medford police said on Facebook. Bryce Harper Drops By NJ Supermarket Heads were swinging at a local supermarket where Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper also happened to do his shopping. Ohio Man Gets 20 Years In Double-Fatal Shooting In South Jersey: Prosecutor A 28-year-old man from Ohio was sentenced to 20 yers in New Jersey State Prison in connection with a double-fatal shooting, authorities said. Michael R. Loftin, Jr., of Cincinnati, was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder. He must serve 17 years before he is eligible for parole, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb McRae. Philly Woman, 41, Killed When Car Hits Trees Off Atlantic City Expressway A 41-year-old woman from Philadelphia was killed when her car veered off the Atlantic City Expressway and struck several trees, authorities said. The unidentified woman was driving an Infiniti westbound in Winslow Township at 6:22 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 29 when the car veered off the roadway at milepost 37.6, Detective Jeffrey Lebron, a New Jersey State Police spokesman, said. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.

24-Year-Old Passenger Killed In Car That Rolled Onto Parked Vehicles On Route 35 In Sayreville Authorities have identified the 24-year-old man killed in a single-car crash over the weekend on Route 35 in Sayreville. Zion Jackson, of Keansburg, was a passenger in the vehicle that crashed near Fred’s Bait and Tackle Shop around 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. A 2009 Acura TL was heading south on Route 35 when it veered off the roadway striking a safety bollard for a fire hydrant and then rolled over onto the two parked vehicles, the prosecutor said.
