Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Police ID Driver, Passenger Killed In Sayreville Crash Authorities have identified the driver and passenger killed in a head-on collision with a box truck in Sayreville. Domingo Coach-Sam, 27, and the passenger sitting behind him, Gaspa Sam Ciprian, 28, died in the crash at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31 at the intersection of Bordentown Avenue and Waterworks Road, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said. Their hometowns were not released. 2 Drivers Killed In Head-On Crash In South Jersey Two drivers were killed in a head-on crash in Burlington County, authorities said. A northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee and a southbound Acura collided on Route 563 near milepost 30 at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 in Washington Township, said Trooper Troy McNair, a New Jersey State Police spokesman. Both the Jeep's driver, Maureen Hanna, 22, of Pleasantville, and the driver of the Acura, Latoya Sotomayor, 36, of Egg Harbor Township, suffered fatal injuries, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation.
