Fatal Hit-Run: ID Released For Man Struck Near Long Island Intersection Authorities have identified a man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Long Island. The crash happened at around 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 in Holbrook. Suffolk County Police said the victim was struck on Coates Avenue, just north of Frank Court, and the driver fled the scene. Full Closures Scheduled For Portion Of Long Island Expressway Continued highway closures could spell delays for Long Island drivers this week. Both directions of the Long Island Expressway are once again scheduled to close nightly at exit 63 in Brookhaven beginning Monday, Dec. 4. I-495 will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews facilitate a bridge deck renewal project, according to the Department of Transportation. Would You Be Fooled? Movie Money Used By 22-Year-Old Long Island Man To 'Buy' Car, Police Say It appeared to be the real deal, but a closer look revealed it was all for show. A 22-year-old Long Island man is accused of scamming a victim out of their car by using movie prop money, according to Southampton Town Police. The victim contacted the department in October 2023 to report that his vehicle had been stolen by a man who had contacted him on Facebook Marketplace. Darieo St. Leger, age 34, of Islip Terrace, pleaded guilty to one count of assault in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Deadly Hit-Run: Drunk, High 24-Year-Old Admits To Long Island Crash That Killed Woman A 24-year-old man is facing years in prison for hitting and killing a Long Island woman while driving drunk and high on marijuana. Wade Gagliano, of Ronkonkoma, pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Nov. 30, in the death of Adrienne Wagner.
