Norwalk Native Walsh Returns As Coach To Maritime Rowing Club NORWALK, Conn. -- Olympic rower Dan Walsh is rejoining Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk as the club's Director of High Performance and Development. Walsh, a Norwalk native and graduate of Brien McMahon High School, won a bronze medal with the United States Men's 8+at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Dutchess County Fair Kicks Off With Third Eye Blind DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A number of new exhibits will be featured when the 171st Dutchess County Fair begins on Tuesday, Aug. 23, in Rhinebeck. Young Stamford Singer Lands Performance At U.S. Open STAMFORD, Conn. -- A young Stamford singer showed a champion’s perseverance in securing an invitation to perform "America The Beautiful” at the U.S. Open next week. Lucy Scorziello, 12, landed one of 12 spots to sing at the international tennis event in New York. Scorziello will perform the song on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Suffern Police Handle Distraught Man Who Threatened Own Life SUFFERN N.Y. -- Police responded Friday to an apartment on Berkeley Square in Suffern on Friday to a distraught man who was threatening his own life and claimed he had guns in his apartment. After a lengthy standoff, the situation was peacefully resolved around 5 a.m. Suffern Police received assistance from the Ramapo Police Department and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Patrol in responding to the call. Mahwah Family Already Preparing To Give Locals Halloween Creeps, Again MAHWAH, N.J. -- Halloween comes early every year for one particular Mahwah family. Well, at least planning for it does. Victoria and Bill Ackerson create a Halloween display each year at their home, located at the intersection of West Ramapo Avenue and Glasgow Terrace. The tradition started in 2003, and the display includes skeletons, coffins, tombstones, singing pumpkins, cobwebs and creepy contraptions.
