Stamford Officer Graduates From FBI National Academy STAMFORD, Conn. -- Lieutenant Michael Noto of the Stamford Police Department recently graduated from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Va. Lt. Noto is one of 18 members of the Stamford Police Department who has graduated from the National Academy, including Clarence Smith who attended the first session. Lt. Noto commands the midnight shift of the Patrol Division. A total of 49,686 graduates now represent the alumni of the FBI National Academy. Affidavit: Cab Driver Stopped Fleeing Van In Deadly Stamford Accident STAMFORD, Conn. -- A cab driver chased a driver fleeing in a van that struck and killed a Stamford High School student last month according to an arrest affidavit, The Stamford Advocate reported. The affidavit said the cab driver witnessed the accident in which a van driven by Wilson Villa-Cabrera struck Karina Tinajero, 18, as she was crossing Strawberry Hill Avenue to take a SAT test at nearby Stamford High School. Connecticut Senator Murphy Keeps Key Committee Assignments FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- U.S. Senator Chris Murphy will maintain his seats on several key committees in Washington that focus on priorities of state residents. New York Police May Have Botched Evidence In Murder Of Stamford Man STAMFORD, Conn. -- New York police may have obtained evidence that will be inadmissible in court in connection with the death of a Stamford man last month, according to a report in the New York Daily News. James Rackover, 25, of Manhattan and Lawrence Dillone, 28, of Jersey City, N.J., pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with the death of Joey Communale, 26, of Stamford.
