Pembroke Students Remember Less Fortunate At Holiday Time DANBURY, Conn. -- Students at Pembroke Elementary School in Danbury joined in the holiday spirit by collecting food for the region's less fortunate citizens.Third-graders collected food which will be distributed through the Salvation Army. This is the 14th year the school has participated in the community service project.

A burst pipe at Cactus Rose, a popular Mexican restaurant, on Dec. 16. The burst flooded the restaurant, and forced the restaurant to close at the height of the holiday season. The restaurant will remain closed as workers repair the damage. 2 Firefighters Injured, 2 Cat Die In Blaze At Stratford Home STRATFORD, Conn. -- Two Stratford firefighters were injured in responding to a house blaze at 472 Huntington Road in Stratford on Wednesday night, according to NBC Connecticut. Two cats perished in the fire, which was called in at 10:16 p.m. The firefighters suffered minor injuries and were released after hospital treatment.
