Learn About Wild Neighbors In Lewisboro LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- The Lewisboro Land Trust is hosting a family program on Saturday, Sept. 10. In the "Our Wild Neighbors" program, members of the land trust will take the kids on a short hike on town trails, looking for animal habitats. The morning will also include a live-animal presentation by Chris Evers and Animal Embassy, and snacks will be provided. The program is free, but registration is required, since space is limited. Westport Firefighters Battle Wildfires In Idaho WESTPORT, Conn. -- As many enjoyed one of the last weekends of summer, two Westport firefighters packed their gear to join the 20-person Connecticut Interstate Fire Crew, headed to the western United States to help fight ongoing wildfires.  The Westport firefighters with this perilous assignment are Michael Kronick and Robert Yost. Kronick has been deployed to the western U.S. several times, most recently to northern California in 2015. This is Yost's first such deployment. Valhalla Boys Soccer Team Honored For Academics VALHALLA, N.Y. -- The Valhalla High School boys varsity soccer team had a great season this past year -- and it has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the players' academic achievements. The NSCAA's Team Academic Award is reserved for teams where the members maintain at least a 3.25 grade point average for the entire school year.
