Tenafly Rescue Howls For Holidays With Closter Showcase
TENAFLY, N.J. -- Tenafly-based Pet ResQ is hosting its First Annual Howliday Showcase on Sunday, Dec. 4, at The Barn in Closter.The event will feature photos with Santa, a variety of vendors and kids activities, contests, food, dog adoptions and more.
Admission is free, and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome, as well.
The event is still seeking vendors, including food providers, canine-related goods and services, and otherwise. Email petresqincevents@gmail.com for more information.

Darien's Person-To-Person Continues Holiday Toy Store Tradition
DARIEN, Conn. -- Folks in lower Fairfield County are welcomed to partner with Person-to-Person, to help bring brighter holidays to kids and relieve a little of the holiday stress for local families.
This is the 21st year P2P is hosting its Holiday Toy Store. The nearly 50-year-old nonprofit has offices in Darien and Norwalk and its service area includes Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
The agency organizes new, donated toys and books according to age, and P2P clients can "shop" for their children -- one free toy and book per child, plus a board …
Frances Pennacchio, 89, West Nyack Resident
WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- Frances Pennacchio, of West Nyack, died on Tuesday, Nov. 8. She was 89.
Born in Larchmont, Pennacchio was an accomplished pianist and singer. She liked to sing at church on Sundays in the choir, and she was a devout Catholic.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; children Carol Schiavone and her husband Frank, and Joseph Pennacchio; and grandchildren Anastasia Pennacchio and Angela, Salvatore, Deanna and Frankie Schiavone.
Pennacchio was predeceased by her parents, Rosario and Vitina Anastasi, and her siblings, Theresa Sciortino and Joseph Anastasi.

BEACON, N.Y. -- Elaine Santiago, of Beacon, died on Tuesday, Nov. 8. She was 89.Born in Manhattan, Santiago received her associates degree in accounting from Monroe Institute, in the Bronx. She had worked as a bookkeeper at the World Trade Center. She was a parishioner of St. John's Church, in Beacon.
