Born in Jersey City, Cavalucci grew up in Rutherford and came to Park Ridge in 1975. He enjoyed a 26-year career as a teacher and football coach. He was the head coach at Saint Cecelia High School from 1960-1972, defensive line coach at the University of New Hampshire from 1972-1974, defensive line coach for the WFL Shreveport Steamer in 1974, and head coach at Pascack Valley High School from 1975-1986.
