TEANECK, N.J. -- The TechRoots Academy at the Teaneck Public Library will present "Got Code?" for kids grades 4-8, beginning Tuesday, July 5.Participants will learn how to create mobile apps, websites and computer games. "With TechRoots you will have fun, learn and explore new technologies," organizers note.

LODI, N.J. -- If you're looking for a safe way to retire your personal documents, Lodi residents, the borough is hosting a free summer shredding event on Saturday, July 16.
The event will run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Borough Hall's main parking lot, 1 Memorial Dr., rain or shine.

Karl Schaefer, 85, Former South Hackensack Resident
SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Karl Schaefer -- a Cookstown resident, formerly of South Hackensack -- died on Wednesday, June 22. He was 85.Born in Passaic, Schaefer lived in Pequannock, South Hackensack and Preston, New York, before moving to Cookstown 20 years ago. He was a superintendent of maintenance at the Chancery Office in the Archdiocese of Newark for 30 years before he retired.
He had served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW in South Hackensack.
