Annual Summer Festival In Wassaic Begins Friday
WASSAIC, N.Y. -- The free Wassaic Project Summer Festival begins this Friday, with a wide variety of workshops, exhibits, films and more.This annual celebration of "art, music, dance and community" will feature more than 100 artists, 25 bands, film screenings, dance performances and more, organizers note. "Housed in the unique buildings and property of the Wassaic Project, the festival escapes the white walls of traditional art spaces."
The festival hours are Friday from 5-11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Paramus Foster Home Has Ridgewood Company To Thank For New Kitchen
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The kitchen of a Paramus group home was in serious need of some TLC.
Folks from Ridgewood-based Ulrich, Inc., however, stepped up to make it happen.
It was Children's Aid and Family Services' Path I group home for boys in therapeutic foster care that was showing its age, with a lack of storage space and lighting, and cabinet doors falling off.
And that kitchen gets a lot of use, with three meals and two snacks prepared daily for the eight boys, ages 5 -12, who live in the house.

Gas Station In Yonkers Robbed Again, Possibly By Same Suspect
YONKERS, N.Y. -- Global gas station, in Yonkers, was robbed on Tuesday night, after having been robbed on June 29, Westchester News 12 has reported.
The station, on Central Park Avenue and Underhill Street, was robbed by a man described as wearing a mask, white gloves, a green hoodie and red shorts, according to Westchester News 12.

Brookfield PD Will Crack Down On Texting And Driving, Starting Wednesday
BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Beginning Wednesday, the Brookfield Police Department will have special patrols out, looking for distracted drivers -- especially those on their phones.One goal of the "U Text. U Drive. U Pay." campaign is to reinforce that phone use while driving is both illegal and dangerous. "Everyone thinks they can do it, that a crash won't happen to them," Chief Robin Montgomery said. "Sadly, we see it every day and it can and does happen."
