Organisciak -- Westbury resident and former New Rochelle schools superintendent -- died Wednesday, July 20. He was 65. Born in England, his family immigrated to Brooklyn when he was a child. Organisciak was the superintendent of the City School District of New Rochelle from August 2006 until he retired in October 2013. While in New Rochelle, he was selected to serve as one of eight members of the executive committee governing the New York State Council of School Superintendents. Nyack Man Steals Wallet, Busted For Pretending To Be Owner NYACK, N.Y. -- A 21-year-old Nyack man is facing four charges stemming from allegedly stealing a wallet in late July.According to the Orangetown Police Department, Freddie Mendoza allegedly stole a man's wallet in Nyack, impersonated the victim in a Nyack store and tried to make purchases using a credit card from the wallet. Store employees thought Mendoza was acting suspiciously, however, and called the police.
