Haldane High's Kelly Vahos Earns Volleyball Honor From MaxPreps COLD SPRING, N.Y. -- Haldane High School’s Kelly Vahos was named the MaxPreps/AVCA Player of the Week for New York after leading the Blue Devils to a pair of wins last week. Vahos had 64 kills as Haldane (14-2) defeated Roy Ketcham in Wappingers Falls and Mahopac High School and fell to Yorktown High School. She also had 22 digs, six aces and nine blocks. Wilton Soccer Team Reaches State Cup Semifinals WILTON, Conn. -- The Wilton under-11 boys soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the State Cup. Wilton will play West Hartford in the semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 25. The tournament started with 74 teams. Wilton beat WAM United, 3-1, in the quarterfinals. Wilton beat Bristol, 6-1; Wilton White, 9-3; and Norwalk, 8-0, in previous tournament games. The winner will advance to the Connecticut Cup championshp game on Nov. 1.
