Norwalk's Marching Bears Mows Over Competition NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk High School Marching Band took first place in the National Class of Bands at a Musical Arts Conference competition in Newtown on Oct. 18. Norwalk also won Best Color Guard’ and Best Percussion. Competing against rival Trumbull, the Bears won with a total of 92.35, while Trumbull was second with 90.75. Melissa Salguero, a Bridgeport resident and a master’s degree student at UB, appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres" show last month.
