And it was worth the wait. The Crusaders (12-0) beat archrival Iona Prep, 16-14, on Saturday at Fordham University. Stepinac will play for the inaugural Catholic League state championship on Sunday, Dec. 7, in Uniondale, N.Y. Stepinac shared the CHSFL title in 1955.
