Iona Prep's Matt Ryan Named New York's Mr. Basketball CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Iona Prep senior Matt Ryan, a resident of Cortlandt Manor, was selected last week as Mr. New York Basketball by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York. Ryan averaged 19 points and eight rebounds per game for the Gaels, who finished the season 22-6. The 6-foot, 7-inch forward has committed to play in college at Notre Dame. Ryan missed most of his junior season due to a hip injury that required surgery. Wilton High Girls Basketball Team Rolls To State Title WILTON, Conn. -- Sparked by senior Erin Cunningham, Wilton High School's girls basketball team opened the game with a 14-3 run and cruised past South Windsor, 73-45, to win the Class LL championship Saturday night at Mohegan Sun.
