Second Quarter Unit Sales Surge In Stamford FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Second quarter unit sales in Stamford and New Canaan jumped by double digits compared to the same time frame in 2014, according to reports from real estate brokerages. Single family homes sales rose 18 percent in New Canaan and 17 percent in Stamford, according to the second quarter report from William Pitt and Julia B. Fee. Single-Family Home Sales Fall 14 Percent In Ridgefield FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Sales of single-family homes fell in Danbury and Ridgefield in the second quarter, according to figures released by local brokerages. Sales fell 3 percent in Danbury and 14 percent in Ridgefield. In Fairfield County, sales rose 6 percent for the second quarter compared to the same time frame last year. Median Home Sale Price Rises 4 Percent In Wilton FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Sales of single family homes rose in the second quarter in Weston and Redding but fell in Wilton and Easton, according to figures released by the region’s brokers. Sales rose 11 percent in Weston and 9 percent in Redding compared to the second quarter in 2014. Wilton saw an 8 percent decline, and Easton sales fell 32 percent. Rye Golfer Wins Met Junior Championship RYE, N.Y. -- Rye golfer James McHugh claimed his first career Metropolitan Golf Association title at the 98th Met Junior. McHugh defeated defeating James Nicholas in the championship match on Thursday at Paramount, 5 & 4. A par and a birdie on the first two holes quickly earned McHugh a 2-up advantage, but Nicholas’ par on the third trimmed the lead back to one in the early going. Three pars in a four-hole span were good enough to extend McHugh’s lead to 4-up through eight holes.
