Carmel Man Punched, Choked Girlfriend, Sheriff's Office Says CARMEL, N.Y. -- A Carmel man was arrested on misdemeanor and violation charges following a domestic dispute on Sunday, Jan. 31, the Putnam County Sheriff's Department said.  Emile D. Residents are advised not to give their personal information to the caller.  The IRS would never ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone, require a specific payment method, threaten to bring in local police or demand payment without giving the opportunity to appeal the amount. Fairfield Officer Hurt In Chain-Reaction Crash In Easton During Snowstorm EASTON, Conn. -- A police officer from Fairfield and another motorist sustained minor injuries after a chain-reaction car accident on the Easton-Fairfield border during the snowstorm Friday, according to the Connecticut Post. A motorist heading south on Black Rock Turnpike lost control and collided with the officer's cruiser heading in the opposite direction at 2:30 p.m., the Post reported.
