Oil Spills Into Norwalk River At Ridgefield Border RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Oil began spilling into the Norwalk River at Wilton, Ridgefield and Redding from a storm drain this afternoon, according to The Ridgefield Press. Ridgefield Fire Chief Kevin Tappe said the spill's source must be the business at 58 Ethan Alley Highway or a pipe behind it, The Ridgefield Press reported.  Firefighters at the scene put absorbent pads into the storm drain by the railroad tracks at the location and booms and pads in the culvert to prevent any more oil from draining into the river, The Ridgefield Press said.  Click here to read the article at The Ridgefield P…

Leonia United Methodist Church Organizes Fundraiser LEONIA, N.J. -- The Leonia United Methodist Church will have a fundraiser bluegrass concert March 12 with the Foggy Minded Boys and the Foggettes.  The suggested donation is $25 per person or $50 per family.  The fundraiser also will feature a silent auction and dessert.  Proceeds will go to the church and their efforts to support ministries, such as Community of Friends in Action, A Future with Hope, Habitat for Humanity, Sa Leone Health Pride and more. The fundraiser will take place from 6-9 p.m. at the church's Tyson Hall.
